Saturday, June 21st, Lancaster County Children and Youth will be hosting their annual foster family picnic. This is a time for foster families to relax and fellowship with other co-workers in the foster care system. Children and Youth has asked MBC’s HOPEful Orphan Ministries to provide carnival games for the kids during the time directly after lunch.
We have the supplies, but lack the manpower. So, if you think you might be able to help us serve local foster families, please sign up using the form below. Children and Youth have asked us to pass on that this is a family event, and as such, you can bring your kids! School-aged children are also welcome to help run the games.
Below are a few details – but to be clear, we’re looking for volunteers to show up at the retreat from 12:30-2:15 (if 11-3 is too much of a stretch!). You can either sign up online, or via the signup sheet, which will be at church this Wednesday and Sunday. We’ll be passing on the number of volunteers to Children and Youth on 6/16, so there are sure to be plenty of hot dogs for all who plan on coming!
11-12:00 – unload van and set up games
12-12:45 – picnic (hot dogs/drinks provided, if you’re able to bring something, they are asking A-I- hot side dish, J-R cold side dish, S-Z a dessert)
12:45-2:00 – games and raffles
2-3:00 – load up van and go home
